National MS Society License Plate

On July 11, 2005, the North Carolina General Assembly ratified House Bill 85, which created a special license plate for supporters of the National MS Society.  This specialized plate will have the Society’s logo on the left side of the standard “First in Flight” NC license plate.

In order for the Division of Motor vehicles (DMV) to initiate production of the new National MS Society plate, the Society must collect 300 completed applications. There are two options for the National MS Society plate, the standard and the personalized. The standard plate costs $25 in addition to your regular renewal fee. The personalized National MS Society plate costs $55 in addition to your regular registration fee. You may choose up to four letters or number/letter combination for this plate. The North Carolina Chapters of the National MS Society will receive $15 of the fees collected per plate to be used for a variety of statewide programs and MS Awareness initiatives.

To reserve one of the first 300 National MS Society license plates or to order your personalized plate, please contact the chapter for an application A $25 check or money order for the standard plate or $55 for a personalized plate must accompany each license plate application. Once the first 300 applications are received and processed, others wishing to purchase the National MS Society plate may do so through the regular DMV process at the time of their next regular registration renewal.

License plates 0004 – 0300 will be assigned by the order the Eastern North Carolina Chapter receives the applications.
